NMAH Story: Story
During breakfast on the morning of September 11, my father, who checks the news online daily, told me two planes had crashed into the Twin Towers. I couldn't comprehend how something this horrible could have happened; it didn't seem real. I went to school, and everything continued as usual. We had a test first period, and almost everyone took it like they normally would have. I think everyone was so shocked that they didn't fully understand what had happened, and the easiest thing to do was to pretend like it hadn't. The rest of the day was like a dream, as we watched the planes crash numerous times on the news. I became numb to emotion- I did not have the capacity to feel the extent of the devastation and hatred directed toward our country.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
My view of life has changed because of September 11. September 11 has helped me put things into perspective, and realize how fortunate I am to be alive.
