NMAH Story: Story
Like many others, in California, I watched the disaster on television. On September 11the, I was called to worked as the general foreman of the entertainment, transportation department for the Disneyland Resort (Dept. 382- Show Services). I wasn't sure why I was being called into work seeing as our CEO, Michael Eisner had closed all Disney theme parks. When I arrived at work, I learned that even though the theme park was closed, entertainment was instructed to remain at the Disney Resort hotels, to entertain our out of state guests. Needless to say, it was a little bit eerie to walk around the park with no guests and very few cast members. And even a year later, knowing you're still a possible terrorists target, leaves people uneasy. With ample time on our hands, myself and two of my crew members, (Bryan Volmer and Roland Santos) were able to take photos of Disneyland, completely empty of tourists. These will be a reminder for myself, family and friends, for many years to come.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
Yes, my life has changed in that I have seen hours shortened and people having to find other work, because of a downturn in tourists.
