It started just like any other day at school, I was walking
down the hall, and people were talking about a plane crash
in Washington D.C. I thought nothing of it at the time, but
when I got to my second period class my History teacher and
some students had gathered around the television, it was
then that I knew something was terribly wrong. We watched
the news the whole period and watched as the building burst
into flames, and then crumbling to the ground.

Ever since 9-11 my perspective on life has changed. Many
children lost parents in this tragic event, which has
brought me closer to my family. I now realize how lucky I
am to have parents that are there for me. This event has
made me proud to be an American!

I think this day should be a day reserved for those who lost
loved ones. I also think we should give police officers and
fire fighters the respect they deserve.

Yes, we fly a flag because me and my family are proud to be
Americans.
