NMAH Story: Story

I was in a management training class with the United States Post Office when I heard that a plane had crashed into the Trade Center. At first we thought it was just a plane accident of some type. Then when we heard about the second plane and then the Pentagon, everyone was shocked. My husband is from Brooklyn, New York. I live in West Virginia. At that time we were dating and he worked in New York for an environmental firm that did business with the Port Authority. I was worried about him and I did not hear from him until late that evening. We talked for hours and he told me all about what was going on there. He actually went to the site to work the next day and he also shared his experiences with the workers and people of the city that gathered to help in those first few days.

NMAH Story: Life Changed

My life has not really changed a large amount. I do spend more time with family and on that day I realized I wanted to marry the love of my life.

NMAH Story: Remembered

We should remember that everyone is vunerable to attacks from terrorism. We should remember that America pulled together in a way I don't feel it had in years and we should be thankful for that.

NMAH Story: Flag

I placed a flag sticker on my car like a half a zillion other Americans. My young children wanted flags on everything, but my feelings about the flag did not change. I have always been proud to fly the American flag and I have tried to foster that believe in my children.
