NMAH Story: Story
I work at for the Law Department at 100 Church St., one block away from WTC. When the tragic happened I was on the train on my way to work. When I got at the train station, they were evacuating. Since 100 Church St. is at the coner of one of the train station exit, they had said they were evacuating the building. So I thought it was on fire. But as people were coming out of the train station they were making comments but would not say what was going on. When I came out I saw one of the twin towers in fire, all of a certain I looked at people taking pictures and video taping. When I looked back to the twin towers I see the other one on fire, too. I thought "When did this happened?" Police Officers were saying that there was bomb threats so everyone must leave the area. When I was at Chambers and Broadway one of the building collapsed and it felt like an earthquake, buildings were shaking and people running and saying that it was another plane. Thanks God my mother lives at Little Italy and I walked to her house and stayed there until my husband got there to pick me up. It took him the whole day get down town. And I also worked at the Pier where they were applying for death certificates for the victims' families.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
NMAH Story: Remembered
Basically everything, I think 9/11 should be like any other holiday. A tribute to the innocent people who died. Like Memorial Day.
NMAH Story: Flag
No I didn't fly one but I have a big one at home. I got it at the Pier when I was working there.
