NMAH Story: Story

I was where I am today, at my desk at work. A driver came in and said that the Pentagon was gone. We had no idea what was going on as no one here had a radio. I went to a website with a live video feed as the second plane hit the tower. I actually had a flashback to the day I witnessed the space shuttle blowing up on television. I simply couldn't beleive what I was watching. My department crowded around my computer monitor as we watched history unfold.

NMAH Story: Life Changed

That night I went home numb. I just layed on the couch with my husband and we held each other. I knew that I would never be the same.

I sometimes wonder if I'm obsessed. I read the articles, view the pictures, over and over again. Flight 93 hit me escpecially hard because I used to travel as part of my job almost full time. I think about what I would have done, if I could have been as brave.

I cry more often, I don't take a minute for granted. I always tell my husband I love him, you never know if it might be the last time you'll get a chance to say that.

NMAH Story: Remembered

I think that we should remember that on September 11th, America realized that we are not immune to terrorism. We got a small glimse of what some people have to deal with on a daily basis. We learned how cruel and at the same time how heroic us humans can be. We learned how much our families and friends mean to us and just how fragile life truly is. We now realize that this morning when we left home there is always a possibility that we might just not make it back that evening.

NMAH Story: Flag

No, I have always flown an american flag.
