NMAH Story: Story
I was a sophomore at Boston College High School on September 11. I was in the school computer lab around 9:30 when I overheard other students talking about some horrible accident in New York where a plane crashed into a city skyscraper. I thought I must have heard wrong, or that they were recalling a movie or something outside of reality. Then I saw a picture on the internet of a building with a cloud of fire around it. I still denied its validity; it was probably just a digitally altered picture. I left the library not thinking much of the rumors I had heard.
Shortly after, the school principal made an announcement. He broke the news that, not one, but two commercial airplanes had crashed into the "Twin Towers" in New York. I could deny reality no longer. The shock I experienced was indesribable. How did this happen?
