NMAH Story: Story
Like millions of people, I was working that morning when the President of our company came running down the hall and told us that a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. So after, another plane into the Pentagon. Not knowing the fate of the U.S. at that time, she told us to go home and be with our families. I left work, picked my son up from high school, (which happens to be the only day he was counted absent, ever)and we drove home. It was a very quiet ride home as we listened to the radio as events took place. We were very scared.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
Yes, I value every day even more now. I pay more attention to news stories and world events. I realize how quick our freedom can be taken from us.
NMAH Story: Remembered
The fact that as one nation under God we can pull through some horrific moments, both stronger and wiser.
NMAH Story: Flag
I have always flown an American flag outside my home. It is that everylasting reminder of the freedom we have in this country. My feelings toward my country and my flag have remained strong. It is that display which reminds us everyday that this country is protected by our armed forces, our President, and our people.
