NMAH Story: Story
I experienced September 11th as an elementary school teacher in lower Manhattan. My classroom is directly facing Greenwich St. which provided a direct line of sight to the towers. At the very beginning, I found myself in the street with hundreds of others, trying to make sense of what was happening. As the second plane hit and the buildings collapsed, my attention focused on evacuating students and connecting them with thier parents.
I wound up being stuck in Manhattan until the next day...

NMAH Story: Life Changed
Since the 11th, I have become much more aware of how vulnerable we are. I have become more involved with and informed about world events, politics, and policy.
NMAH Story: Remembered
Although many have focused on the evil acts committed on the 11th, we can all benefit from trying to focus on the acts of heroism and bravery that occured on that day; many of which will never be known to us.
NMAH Story: Flag
I have flown the flag since the 11th.
