NMAH Story: Story
As Deputy Director of our County Emergency Management office, we were setting up to conduct a evacuation exercise at detroit Metro Airport when our Admin yelled to turn on the TV, like everyone else, we watched the event unfold. We were shocked, but more amazing was that the exercise scenario was to be an expolsive device. On hand were the EOD and K-9 teams. Our exercise became real as we activated our EOC and started processing the information and actions we would take for the next 30 hours.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
As the whole of Emergency Services, we've become more sensitive to what may have otherwise been normal situations
NMAH Story: Remembered
The idea that what was normal is no longer accepted, and we can no longer think that the 'unthinkable' could not happen.
NMAH Story: Flag
Yes, we placed 1 on the back side of our office, facing a runway for people to see as flights are taxing for takeoff, sewn flag patsches on our clothing, and placed flag images on our writtwen material. I think the feeling of Country has been imbetted in our sense of what we do, all the time.
