911DA Story: Story

My husband called me on his commute to work and told me what had happened. I went downstairs and turned on the TV and watched in disbelief what I was seeing. My first reaction was horror then anger. I spent the rest of the week in anger at what had happened to our nation. The next Sunday at Church the service was dedicated to the attack and as we sang "God bless America" I finally began to mourn, I sobbed during the entire song.

I am so grateful for grandparents who had the foresight to leave Greece in the early 1900's to come here so that I could have a better life. They have no idea of the gratitude I have for that sacrifice, and the lesson they taught me in loving this country and not clinging to their old way of life but melting into this society and never looking for a handout but for making their own way by the sweat of their brow.

May we pray for our leaders to protect this nation at all costs.

Konnie
