NMAH Story: Story
i live in hawaii and i remember waking up out of a dead sleep at 3a.m. that would have been 9 a.m. on East coast. i don't know excatly why i woke up, i fell asleep and woke up at 5:10a.m. to my sister telling that the world trade center had been hit. She had told me to turn on the tv, i did and found the world trade centers falling. All i thought about was oh my gosh where is my family are they ok, was daddy to be flying any where. My husband is in the Navy and his sub was out of port at the time and he had been sent home prior to this for medical reasons. I felt so bad for my friends that their husbands were gone. I think i would have been a lot more scared if My husband wasn't home. I remember calling family to make sure they were okay and being with friends.

NMAH Story: Life Changed
My life has changed in the way that i am a little more cautious of people. I used to go up and talk with anyone,i still do but i am not so open as i was before.
I try not to take things for granted and i am more proud than ever to be married to Navy submariner. I was always proud of him, but now other people appreciate what he does.

NMAH Story: Remembered
I think that we should all remember how we felt that dayand never ever take our family friends and our nation for granted. Everyone pulled together after the attacks, it is such ashame that it took someone coming into our homeland to try to destroy it for people to wake up and realize what a great nation we have.
