NMAH Story: Story

My name is Rachel. On Septembe11, 2001, I was at my school. I remember siting in my 2nd period class, when I first heard the news. The sad thing was that I did not even know what the World Trade Center was. In my 3rd period class we looked at pictures on the internet, as well as listened to the radio. I will never forget hearing them say that the North tower was collasping. Little did I know what devistation this really was. Through this year I have found out so much information about the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. My heart goes out to the familys that mourn for their loss, even a year later. How people can take the lives of innocent victims is beyond me. Now I know how serious this attack really was. Throughout the year I have witnessed what our country really stands for. In the time of great fear we united together and remained strong. I believe God was with every person that day. I believe He is still with us and He is what holds America together. Americans often take advantage of freedom. I know I took advantage of it, before the attack. It was a real wake up call. Not only to me, but to all Americans.
I remember going home that day and watching the television. I remember seeing the fear in people's eyes. I just cried. Throughout the year I have felt for the people who lost their loved one in this terrrorist attack. I think one of the worse things about the whole attack is the people thought it was going to be a normal day. Little did they know it would be the last time to hear or see their loved ones. All I have to say to those who attacked us is: You all may think you have done something that was going to cause our nation to fall and be in chaos, but in truth all you did was cause our nation to become stronger than ever! May God Bless Us All!

NMAH Story: Life Changed

Yes, because it showed me that you never can take life forgranted. It also showed me how our nation can unite together. I also want to let those around me know how much I love them just in case I was not coming home that day. So never waste an opportunity to tell someone that you love them.

NMAH Story: Remembered

I think we should remember the heroes, the unity, the bravery, and all those lost in that horrifying moment.

NMAH Story: Flag

Ever since that day, I have took pride in being an American. I flown the flag, said the pledge like I meant it, and for the 1st time I realized how blessed I am to be living in this free country. I think God everyday now for allowing me to live in this country. Where I am free to believe what I want.
