NMAH Story: Story
I was in school at the time the planes crashed into the World Trade Centers. People were going around saying that a plane crashed into the World Trade Center, but we just thought they were kidding. Not everyone knew what had happened yet, plus it seemed like such an impossible thing to happen. Everyone realized what was going on when the teachers started turning the tvs on and our principal announced to us over the pa system that a plane had hit one of the World Trade Centers. The worry of tests and homework went away as we all watched the televisions and prayed for the people in the buildings.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
Since i'm a student pilot right now, it is a longer process to get clearence for flight lessons. After they found out that the terrorists were taking flight lessons before September 11th, they put more restrictions on student pilots. After September 11th, where we could fly was also limited. There were certain no fly-zones that we were not allowed to enter. Inadvertently or directly, we all have been affected by September 11th.
NMAH Story: Remembered
Everyone has to remember that it was a horrible day. We need to remember what happened so we can prevent something like this from ever happening again. For the people who lost loved ones on that day, it is probably hard to think about it, but we need to honor the people that risked their lives to help the men and women in those buildings.
