NMAH Story: Story
I was in 8th grade when it happened. When i heard about the airplanes hitting the Twin Towers, I was getting ready for school. I was makin gmy lunch when my grandfather was telling everyone to come in his room to see what had happened. Once I walked into the room I say the footage of the first plane hitting a tower. I was in shock. I couldn't believe what had happened. Then when I was at school, I heard about the second plane hitting the other tower. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. At first i didn't know what was going on, I just thought a plane had lost control or something. Later I found out it was a terrorist attack.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
My life hasn't changed that much since the attack. I am just very grateful for all of the firefighters and police officers who risked their own lives to safe the lives of complete strangers.
NMAH Story: Remembered
I think all of the lives who were lost in the crash should always be remembered. Also all of the police officers and firefighters should be remembered too because they didn't have to risk their own lives for others but they did. They were very helpful. We should also remember that on that very day is when this country was united together the most.
NMAH Story: Flag
Yes my family did fly an American flag after that day. My thoughts on the flag have definitely changed since then. I am very thankful to be part of this strong and wonderful country. I have never appreciated it more until that attack united us all together.
