NMAH Story: Story
I was woken up by my mom to go take a shower and get ready for school. I remember it was only about the second or third day of school. I got dressed and headed downstairs to find my mom panicking over the phone saying turn on the news now. So confused about what was going on, I went to go find out for myself. There it was, the footage that millions of people will remember. two planes had hit the World Trade Center building. I was speechless and could not believe what I was seeing. Going school that day was one thing I will always remember. Everyones conversation was about what had happened earlier that morning. We sat in class and the principal had made a announcement over the PA system. The principal asked everyone to rise and say a little prayer for the people who suffered the loss of a loved one and for all those who were helping others out of the rubble.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
From that day on, I realized that I should be thankful for what I have and that none of my friends or family was hurt.
NMAH Story: Remembered
We should never forget those who gave their lives that day to try and rescue another person. Us as a country should always remember that in a time of need, we will unite together as one and rebuild whatever was lost.
NMAH Story: Flag
My family always had an American flag in the household, but after September 11, we flew the flag on the outside of the house. I've always had respect for the American flag, because My family would not be where they are if it wasn't for America.
