NMAH Story: Story
I first heard about the news sitting at a stop light on my trek to work in downtown Washington D.C. Once I arrived at work, I of course watched in sheer horror on televion what just didn't seem like it could be true: commercial airplanes being used at missles. Well, of course panic broke out in my department, my floor, my building, my block, my city. Washington D.C. was so surreal. What I remember most about what I observed that day were facial expressions of EVERYONE I laid eyes upon that day: shock and fear. It was the same, no matter your lot in life, your social status, your income, where you lived, the car you drove . . . for one moment in the 10 years that I've lived in Washington D.C., I finally felt we were one.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
My life has definitely changed since Sept. 11. I am a Libra and one of the more common descriptions of a Libra is "over-cautious." I am always reminded by friends that I am the epitome of a Libra. Now, when it comes to living life and doing things that may involve risk, I am a bit more motivated to live the experience, rahter than question the dangers or risks that might befall me in doing so.
NMAH Story: Remembered
What should be remembered about September 11 is the bravery and sacrifice of that day and it's aftermath.
NMAH Story: Flag
I did not personally fly the American Flag after Sept. 11 nor have my feelings about the flag changed.
