NMAH Story: Story
The day of the attack I was in school. Our school did not tell us about the attack because they thought that everyone in the school would get scared. When I got home that day from school I quickly ran and turned on the TV. My sister and mom had been home from school that day, because she was sick, and they both told me that they were both sitting on the couch watching the news. They said that it was very scary and that they had never seen anything like that before. The next couple days everyone at school and at my house was really scared and I know that I was wondering how something like this could happen to the US without being able to stop it. The news papers the rest of that week had the picture of the World Trade Center with the plane inside the building on fire on the front page. Whenever I see a bird in the sky and it looks like an airplane it scares me to think that the terrorists can be on a plane and could just decide to do another suicide bombing with the plane right into my subdivision.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
My life has been changed since September 11th. Now I try to make sure that I mean everything I say and don't say things that I know that I'm going to regret. Whenever I say the Pledge of Allegiance I mean it. Whenever I hear the Star Spangled Banner being sung or played I listen to it and remember September 11th. This is a great country and I feel like this terrorist attack has just brought the US together more. We are more like a family than we were before September 11th.
NMAH Story: Remembered
I think that everyone who died in World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the Pennsylvania crash that might have been headed for the White House should be remembered. The people in the plane that acted and caused the plane to crash early before going any farther should be remembered for their act of bravery. I don't think that many people would have done that, risking their life for others they dont even know.
NMAH Story: Flag
I did not fly an American flag after the September 11th attack. My feelings about the American flag have changed as a result of September 11th. Now I don't just look at the flag and see red, white, and blue, I see the stars and stripes as symbols of our country united.
