NMAH Story: Story

I was at work at Blind Industries and Services of Maryland on that fateful Tuesday morning when I heard on the radio about the World Trade Center. It was hard to visualize what was happening because we don't have access to a tv. It was very frightening for our blind associates because they couldn't literally see what was happening. We kept getting updates on the radio, and I remember being terrified that we were all going to die. I called my parents and my best friend to find comfort and tell them that I love them.

NMAH Story: Life Changed

I am so grateful for my life everyday, and I try to never sweat the small stuff when things go wrong. I make every effort to tell all the important people in my life how much they mean to me and how much I love them. I try very hard everyday to help others when they need something or someone to talk to and, overall, I try to be nice to my fellow man every opportunity I get.

NMAH Story: Remembered

I think the importance of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness should be remembered everyday. God gave us a message never to get too complacent or comfortable with the way things are and never ever take for granted that we have all the freedom in the world. We should be thankful everyday for life which is promised to no one and for God's rich gifts.

NMAH Story: Flag

We have flown a flag everyday since September 11th and will continue to do so. The flag stands for our freedom and helps us remember those who gave their lives so that we can go on.
