NMAH Story: Story
I was working for Rural Metro Ambulance in Knoxville TN on that beautiful morning. We had heard on a local radio station that a small plane had hit the WTC.My partner and I joked that we were glad not to have to be working that call.Awhile later, my now husband, called to tell me that the second tower and the Pentagon had been hit.I went totally numb.I asked what I already knew in my heart."Is this a terrorist attack?" My husband said "Yes,we're under attack." I knew that I couldn't go in & watch tv anywhere or I wouldn't be able to finish out my shift.I would only allow my husband to tell me very litle. When I finally got home I was able to see the total devestation for myself. It is still impossibly hard to believe that this has happened. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with all who have been touched by this tragedy.Always.
NMAH Story: Life Changed
I don't take a single second of this precious and fragile life for granted.I cherish every moment I have with my husband and two beautiful sons.I don't sweat the small stuff anymore.I can't seem to say that I love my family enough or hug or kiss them enough. (Which you can well imagine is just icky for 5&7 year old boys.)
