NMAH Story: Story

I was home recoperating from surgery when my Mom phoned me that morning and told me to put on the TV. I couldn't believe my eyes, I didn't see the first plane hit, but I did see the second hit. I was totally devasted by what had happened. I sat there all day in front of the TV and couldn't move. I just couldn't believe my eyes, I thought to myself, this can't be really happening. I sat there and just cried. Then after the the towers were hit, news came over the TV about the Pentagon and the plane crashing in Pennsylvania. I just couldn't drag myself away from the in front of the TV, I sat for days just soaking up everything I possibly could, switching from one channel to the next. Today, September 11, 2002 as we remember the first anniversary of the attacks, I was on my way to work and when the radio channel I was listening to US99.5 here in Chicago reserved 90 seconds of silence at the time of the first plane hitting, I wept all the way to work. We all dressed patriotic today, but there wasn't a dry eye in the house for most of the day, we had the TV running all day in our lunchroom, and at different times employees would come in and out just to see what was going on. It was a very nice ceremony that was held at all locations of where the planes went down. I will never forget what happened on September 11, 2001 for the rest of my life.

NMAH Story: Life Changed

Yes, I have become more aware of what could really happen to us, especially if we should ever go to war.

NMAH Story: Remembered

All the brave people that gave their lives so that the rest of us can be free. Not only the firepersons, policepersons, but also for the innocent victims that died for no apparent reason.

NMAH Story: Flag

Yes, I have flown a flag ever since September 11, 2001 and continue to do so, cause I'm proud to be an American, and flying the American flag shows that we cannot and will not be defeated. No terrorist will ever kill the spirit the American people have for "Old Glory".
