911DA Story: Story

I do not know really where to begin but I will try. I was at work subing in the classroom. One of our staff members informed us that she heard on the news that a plane had crashed but was not sure where. She then came back in and informed us a little at a time what was going on. Since we were teaching 3 to 5 year olds we kept most of this to ourselves. But it was hard not to talk about the events of that day. We all were worried, upset and praying for news that it was all just a joke. Class ended earlier then usual that day as parents slowly trickled in to get their children. Everyone just knew that it was not over and where could it happen next. As I drove home all I could think about was family I had that lived in the New York area that I some how lost contact with over the years and wished there was someway I could find out how they were. At that moment I knew that I only was feeling just a small amount of the waiting and unknowing game that was going on with people everywhere that had family on planes or in the centers or love ones that worked as the unknown heros that we take for granted every day (policemen, fire figthers etc.). I went home, hugged my family and told them how much I loved them. From that day forth I waited, watched and listened for any kind of news (hoping it was good). But as the days passed there was none. So to anyone that lost someone either close or by aquaintace my heart and prayers will remain with you always. From my family to yours.
