Rob,

Wow...this has been an absolutely devastating week. I
appreciate your e-mail. Fortunately, I was in Kosovo.
It's amazing and ironic -- I was safer in the Balkans
than in Washington, DC.

The U.S. compound here is on full alert. Soldiers
with huge guns are patrolling. We're locked down and
cannot go anywhere. It's been so upsetting.

Rob, I've been a wreck. These events have devastated
me. I have so many friends and colleagues who work at
the Pentagon. I have so many close friends --
including you! -- who live in NYC. The last 48 hours
have been unbearable.

I'm glad to hear you are well. I'm very interested in
hearing your story. Where were you yesterday? What
did you seee?

You were one of the first people I thought of when I
saw the disaster unfolding. You're in my thoughts.

Lots of love,
Joshua
