It with unspeakable sadness that I send this email. As I hope everyone knows by now, our dear and wonderful friend Karleton was involved in the senseless events on Tuesday. Many of you have called and asked to know what is happening with the family, particularly Karleton's wife and their son. I will see her today and will pass along all the condolences many of you have shared with me in the past couple days. At this time, no decision on a memorial service has been made; I believe there will be one in the Boston area and the details will likely be decided when Karleton's parents arrive later today or tomorrow.

John and I will be talking with the family and will pass on information as soon as we get it. Feel free to contact either of us.
