I am a second grade teacher at a Charter school in Louisiana, so on September 11th I had no idea of the tragedies that were taking place in our country. My assistant stepped out of the classroom, and she heard the news. I thought she was crazy when she came back into the classroom and told me that the World Trade Center and the Pentagon had been hit with terriorist planes. I told her that she must have gotten wrong information, because "that is impossible!" Boy, was I wrong. I went on with the day, not telling the children of the horrible events. I went straight home to get the right information, I thought. I cried all night, and still to this day I cry everytime I think about 9-11-01. My husband asks me why I watch the shows, why I read the books, and why I still let it bother me so much. I would feel guilty if I didn't let it bother me so much. I thank God everyday for my husband and my family. This is a day that we can not stop feeling.
