Compensation of partners of gay and lesbian victims
Please reconsider your announced policy of not compensating gay and lesbian partners of victims of 9/11. The rationale for this policy is weak. Surely the federal government can assert primacy over state laws in these circumstances, especially when compensation will be given to others the legitimacy of whose claim would be questioned by others.
