Dear Mr. Phillips,

Thank you for your response. I do believe that you have received lots of e-mails concerning this but I don't believe that you weren't expecting that to happen.

Of course it is not possible for me to say if the image is authentic or not, but I hope that you could see where I and all the others come from. There has been so much rubbish and tabloidism in the media. Intentionally or unintentionally, your photo represents something that is very frightening and that can lead to simplyfying everything in black-and-white only. "This was a monstrous act of evil" is obviously tended to lead to an association stating that "there is a Satan and he is behind of this all.." But as I said, I can't really make any judgements on if the photo is real or not, but I just wanted to express my scepticism and by doing so to remind you of your responsibility as a ptotographer to also think what consequences the publication of your photo might have. Some people will take it very seriously and due to that perhaps consider all the Muslims as "the face of the devil". But for me, the image REALLY seems like Bill Clinton.

Sincerely,
Tiina Seppälä

----- Original Message -----
From: Mark D. I received over 400 emails after this picture ran in newspapers worldwide and people were accusing me of making up this image. I'm sorry you feel this way. I never "came" up with this idea.

>Sincerely,
>Mark D. Phillips

>>Dear representatives of StellarImages,

>>I'm sorry but I do not believe in this kind of nonsense. If the image has to be interpreted in some way, I think it resembles more Bill Clinton than the Devil... However, I can't be 100 % sure, since I haven't met either of them, yet. But I would like to know how you came me up with an idea like this.

>>Sincerely,
>>Tiina Seppälä

>>---
>>Tiina Seppälä
>>Researcher
>>International Relations
>>Department of Social Studies
>>University of Lapland
>>FINLAND

>>address: room 191 A, Faculty of Social Scinces, PL 122, 96101 Rovaniemi, FINLAND tel. +358-16-341 2681
>>mobile: +358-40-726 2687
>>e-mail: tiina.seppala@urova.fi
>>---

---
Tiina Seppälä
Researcher
International Relations
Department of Social Studies
University of Lapland
FINLAND

address: room 191 A, Faculty of Social Scinces, PL 122, 96101 Rovaniemi, FINLAND tel. +358-16-341 2681
mobile: +358-40-726 2687
e-mail: tiina.seppala@urova.fi
---
