9/11 Victims Comp comment
Dear Mr. Kenneth L. Zwick and DOJ Management Programs Staff:
Americans and indeed citizens of the world as a whole will look back
at the distribution of compensation for devastating loss in the attacks on
the World Trade Center and the Pentagon with added, unnecessary horror, if
benefits are withheld from the gay and lesbian partners of Americans who
died on September 11. American children of the future, especially, will
read this history and be ashamed of the backwardness of our leaders for
this prejudice. Most importantly, this attack against the loving partners
of ordinary citizens, some of whom took extraordinary action to save others
on that day, adds to the nightmare of intolerance which enveloped their
love in flames. Shame on the Department of Justice. Shame on America. Do
the right thing.
Respectfully,
Individual Comment
