Dear People,
I am outraged about Kenneth Feinberg's remarks (Sunday, March 10th, "Meet The Press") regarding the probable lack of compensation for the same sex partners of the September 11th victims. It all boils down to flagrant discrimination and I won't stand for it! As a proud American, a frequent voter, a contributor to various political funds, a member of the Federal Club of the Human Rights Campaign, a U.S. Army veteran, a father, a healthcare professional, and last, but not least, a proud gay man, I cannot believe in this day and age, that this is happening.
Please wake up, do the right thing and step boldly into the 21st century. Please leave discrimination in the Dark Ages, where it belongs. I trust you will do what's right by the survivors of all the victims, not just the ones you deem morally correct.
I imagine that I will not get a personal response to this letter, but rather an acknowledgement email stating that your department is too busy to respond to a common citizen. If that's the case, then so be it. I won't care, as long as you extend benefits regardless of the legal marital status of the survivors. Please act now to right this wrong.
Yours truly,
Individual Comment
