Discrimination against gays' and lesbians' survivors for 9/11 benefits

Good afternoon,

I have been reading, with great disappointment, that those related to gays and lesbians who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks will not be eligible for the same benefits as will heterosexual partners. Even illegal aliens are likely to fare better.

This is patently wrong. If President Bush and his administration want to demonstrate their commitment to freedom and justice, then it should be freedom and justice for ALL, not just heterosexuals.

I am ashamed to live in a country where the rights of all Americans are not respected. I hope the government will reconsider this discriminatory policy.
