Victims Compensation Fund Comments
When I read the article in the paper asking for public comments on the Victims Compensation Fund, I was outraged that the sanctimonious hypocritical people in Congress are concerned about the possibility that the victim's families might "Double Dip" in getting help. Since when have they been so concerned about "Double Dipping". These same people, in Congress, have been "Double Dipping" for as long as I can remember and long before that. How many of them take money from one branch of Government (Congress) and accept money from another branch of Government (Military Pensions, for instance). I was taught, when I went to school, the Constitution expressly FORBIDS this exact thing. The Congress is not the only branch doing this, I'm sure that there are other people that are doing the same thing. They should clean up their own "Double Dipping" before they worry about anyone else's actions.
Now, as to the use of the fund. The money was donated for the use of the victims and their families and NOT for: expenses of the charities that are supposed to be disbursing the money but so far haven't done any disbursing of the money or, for other needs not connected to the attacks. Stop worrying so much about double dipping and see that those people are helped. While you're "discussing", those people are not getting any help.
