My concerns

To whom it may concern,

I unfortunately lost a friend in the disaster at the World Trade Center.
Your proposed resolution to the families of the loved ones lost in this
tragedy concerns me greatly.

I strongly believe that an attempt to have an individual waive their legal
rights constitutes denial of due process. Our great country is all about
freedom and the fundamental right of due process. It is more disturbing that
this waiver of rights is being offered when the people entitled to relief do
not know what they are entitled to.

While it may be difficult to have a uniform plan for a recovery, looking at
only the last three years income is patently unfair. Such a plan fails to
consider the wage expectancy of a younger individual had they been able to
keep working.

Thirdly, the scope of dependency is too narrow. I urge you to consider a
broader scope of dependency by including those family members who were
dependent on the ones we lost at the time of the tragedy.

I thank you for allowing me to voice my opinion.
