Interim Final Rule - Public Law 107-42

To Whom It May Concern:

Hang in there! While not everything I'd hoped for when I submitted my initial comments, you've done as good a job as you could under the circumstances. People who have received insurance money or other funds as a result of their tragic losses on September 11 should not be additionally compensated from federal (taxpayer) funds. These folks have to recognize that help is just that - help, not compensation for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. There is a difference between needy and greedy and money from the government should not be used to keep rich people rich. Others who have lost loved ones under other circumstances can't run to the government for solace - but they hurt just as much. Every one of us who has insurance is now paying for the increased risk through higher premiums. Though it may sound cruel to say some people won't get anything, that doesn't sound half as bad as people complaining that they might actually have to go to work now to make ends meet.

If, after applying the rules, the final number is zero - then so be it.

Thank you for the opportunity to comment - sorry I'm so late.
