Victim Compensation
You can't have it both ways - ignoring the fact the majority of the money
collected by various charities is still unaccounted for and then expecting
the victims to get by on what the charities ARE giving. The government
first has a duty to sort out what happened to the approximately 1 billion
dollars that was collected from the American public - before deciding
anything. 9/11 was not a national lottery windfall for charities. The
money collected was to go to the victims of 9/11. If the government is not
willing to investigate what happened to the money then they have a duty to
compensate the victims of 9/11
If the government is willing to overlook the thievery of the charities it
certainly has a duty to compensate the victims.
Any money misused by the charities reduces the amount allotted the families,
which was greatly determined by the donations of the American citizens. If
you continue to allow the charities to use the money in any way they see
fit - the government must compensate the victims the way the American people
intended to do through private donation.
