Mr. Kenneth Zwick, Director

Main Building--Room 3140

Dear Mr. Zwick:
I would like to share my concerns over the distribution of the donations to the victims' families of the World Trade Center and Pentagon disasters.
I think it's fair to assume that none of the contributors planned or hoped to make--in some cases--recipients multi-millionaires. Rather, there was an outpouring of compassion and patriotism to aid the victims' families, pay their mortgages, feed and clothe their children, and not have them suffer a financial strain while trying to put their lives back together. The victims who provided their families with life insurance to protect them should be commended and not have their families penalized in order to give money to those whose providers weren't wise enough to protect them.
Now I understand the Federal Government, in an attempt to protect the airlines from lawsuits, is paying out a great sum to these same people; and the contributors will be hit again by taxes to pay for this.
Another concern is that, with the hard feelings that are sure to be present, there will be no outpouring of monies to help victims' families of catastrophes in the future.
Thank you for considering my concerns; I hope you will share with me your thoughts in these areas.
Sincerely,
Individual Comment
Yardley, PA
