same sex partners

Please insure that the language of the final qualification statement clearly
allows compensation to the same-sex partners who lost their partners.

Inasmuch as most state laws do not recognize same sex relationships in
matters of inheritance, retirement benefits, etc., the proposed language
which leaves the matter to state law, is not sufficient.

All Americans who lost their loved ones in the tragic events of September 11
deserve to be compensated equally.
