Truly enough has become enough . . . it would appear that the terrorists (miraculously) managed to kill all of the most honorable members of each of these families, leaving the petty, greedy and thankless to whine and demand ever more compensation from American taxpayers (who ALREADY voluntarily donated in excess of one billion dollars to charity for distribution to these families). Americans are an extremely charitable people, and the amount of money donated thus far, if appropriately distributed, is far in excess of what the typical survivors of any victim of violent crime (or disease or accident, for that matter) could or should expect to receive. And they have the nerve to whine that deducting life insurance payments is PENALIZING them.

It has become clear that the only remaining rational Congressional purpose behind this program is to protect two major airlines from catastrophic losses. Compensation to the victims was a noble, but not legally necessary, corollary to that action. Congress should now simply bite the bullet and cap awards against airlines in suits based on the events of 9/11/01 and eliminate the government's Septemvber 11th fund altogether.

These greedy weasels don't deserve another dime.
