911DA Story: Story

On 9/11 I didn't have very strong emotions, in fact I barely even understood the depth of what had happened that morning. I went off to school hearing my mom say "A plane flew into one of the towers." It seemed like a terrible accident, but not nearly as deep and painful as the real event actually was.
I arrived at school, and I heard all the talk. Another plane had crashed. The pentagon was hit. The towers had collapsed.
My friends and I joked about going and killing Osama and the Taliban with grenades, at the time al Quaeda didn't have any meaning to me, which contributed to my lack of sense of reality.
But the next day, when I had thought it over and understood what had happened, I was actually worried about what has going to happen next. I wondered what else would be hit, how this could happen, if the Texas Capital would be hit.
But the more I talked about it with my teachers, friends, and parents, the less afraid I was and the more I realized that I should feel compassion for those who lost loved ones, and as a tribute not actually fear terrorism at all.

THat's my story.
