911DA Story: Story
The first thing that I remember about September 11 2001 was what a truly beautiful morning it had been. There was not a cloud in the sky as I drove to the highschool where I taught. The day started out normally but around 9:30-10:00 A.M. while I was on my plannning period another techer came into the teacher's lounge where I was sitting and told me that an airplane flew into the WTC. At first I didn't believe him and I wanted to check it out for myself. I could'nt get to a radio or tv so I went to my car and called my mom and asked her what was going on. She said two planes had hit the WTC and one just hit the Pentagon. I quickly went back into the school and when I reached the office the principal was deciding if she should make an announcement about the terrorist attack. After much thought she decided to make an announcement and asked for a moment of silence for those who had died. From that moment on it seemed like that day would never end. I can not explain in mere words how hard it is to explain something like this to children.
