911DA Story: Story

I was at my house when I first heard that terrorists had hijacked planes and flew them into the World Trade Centers. I was first surprised that someone could penetrate our defenses and shocked when I witnessed the towers crumble to the ground. I didn't know what to think. Was the world coming to an end?
On my way to school, my dad turned on the radio and everyone was reporting on the World Trade Centers. There were reports of a third hijacked plane trying to kill the president but when they found out he wasn't at the White House, they crashed into the Pentagon.
At school, most everyone was talking in amazement about the terrorist attacks. In most of my classes, we watched live coverage of the progress of firefighters, police men, and volunteers doing whatever they could to make the situation better for the injured and those in need.
I remember people buying flags to hang on their car, shirts, hats and other patriotic symbols of the United States and New York City.
Since 9-11-02, I have begun to not take things for granted and to cherish what I have, especially my family and friends. Hopefully, we'll capture every member of Al-Quida.
