911DA Story: Story
I was at work on the morning of September 11, 2001. I was working in the railyard when the news over the radio reported that a plane hit the World Trade Center in New York City. I really thought that it was a small plane and that it was mostly an accident. As the news kept comming in over the radio, it became clear that it was no accident.
Then I heard that another plane struck the other tower, I really didn't know that they had two towers. Serveral of other coworkers came and conversted during this time period about this over the time frame of the day. As the day went on another plane struck the Pentagon, and one more crashed in Penn. A lot of people I worked with were very shocked by the news as I was. Slowly the evening started turning into late afternoon. Reports of all the people being killed and injured came in over the radio. I worked over twelve hours that day, and missed the lines at the gas stations. I heard about the gas price going up real high. But by the time I got off work, they were back down. Anyway, that is what will forever be in my memory about September 11, 2001, which happens to be my mothers birthday. God Bless America!
