911DA Story: Story

I was in my office when I heard a commotion out in the hallway. Someone was yelling "It's been hit by a plane!" I walked out into the hallway and people were rushing to the television inside our Physical Medicine department. The reporters on TV were describing how a plane had rammed itself into the World Trade Center and replaying video of the crash. All of a sudden, my co-workers and I witnessed live video of the second plane hitting the second World Trade Center tower. For the rest of the morning, we watched in horror as the Pentagon was hit, the fourth plane crashing into the ground, the towers collapsing, people covered in debris rushing away from ground zero. It was the most horrible thing I have ever witnessed. I remember my eyes filling up with tears and my throat tightening up. How could someone do such destruction to us using OUR planes to do it? I remember looking at my friends near me...some crying, some in shock with jaws dropped, all devastated.

I remember that life is short and precious. United we stand. I am proud to be an American.
