It had to be about 8:50 a.m. or so when I was getting ready to take my daughter to the mall. Then the phone rang.. I thought to myself that it couldn't be my husband for it hadn't been long since he left for work..I answered the phone and sure enough it was him. He asked me if I had knew which building in Manhattan, NY my father had worked in and I said I didn't know ....I asked him Why? ..He said to turn on the news to find out. I did ..Then I cried cause I knew that my dad was either in those building or close by..So I said to my husband "let me call him and I will get back to you"..It took me atleast 2 hours to reach him because after the planes had hit the phones got screwed up..When I finally did get him on the phone I was relieved. My father had worked 4 blocks from the World Trade Center. I asked him "did you hear what happened?" He said " I heard a loud boom but I don't know what happened." I told him what had happened and very bluntly told him to get the hell out of there and go home. He said that he probably could not get out of NY with what was going on and he would go to his brothers house to stay til morning....I said ok..Please keep in touch ...After that my butt was glued to the couch and my eyes glued to the TV. That Saturday when he came to visit I was never so happy to see my dad for I thought that maybe I had lost him.....
