911DA Story: Story

I will never forget that morning. I am in Sales and was heading to my first call of the day. I happened to hear on the radio that a plane had flew into the World Trade Center. At that time, most of the world was under the impression that it was accidental. When I arrived at my first call, it was then that I learned about the second plane. I remember going into their conferance room, where most of the employees had gathered to watch the horror unfolding on the tv. Needless to say, I didn't feel like working anymore. I can't explain all the emotions that I was feeling. But I remember feeling fear. I remember looking to the sky and seeing planes in flight...my thoughts were of wondering if those planes were going to land safety or would there be more terror. I didn't see anymore tv footage until I got home that afternoon. Its weird how you say you don't want to see something like that but you are glued to the tv all the same. I can remember I never cried...I believe I was just in shock. So many lives were lost that day..but so many heros came out of that day as well. Our Nation also became one...the unity that I saw helped me go forward with my life. I thought of all the times I was upset because something didn't go the way I wanted it to. I now think differantly. I am more grateful for what I have and cherish every moment of every day. If I could say anything to our future generations about September 11, 2001--be grateful for what you have, be proud of your country, and constantly remember you live in a free country. All of those people who died on September 11, 2001 were proud Americans..don't ever let their memory die.
