911DA Story: Story

My story is not unusual. I was driving southbound on I-95 on my way to a job interview in Sanford, Maine. I hardly ever turn my car radio on, but that morning something compelled me to. I turned on the radio just after the first plane hit. At that point they weren't sure if it was an accident or not. When the second plane hit, a chill ran up my spine. I instantly knew that we were victims of terrorism. I could not help becoming emotional and shedding tears on my way to the interview thinking about the innocent people in the planes and the towers. I am not a religious person, but that night I actually got on my knees in my apartment and prayed for the victims and their families, and all of America. I ended up getting the job I was interviewing for that day, but I just did not feel like celebrating. I could not bring myself to. The thing that amazes me the most is that I will never forget exactly where I was the moment I heard the news. I will never, ever forget what happened that day and I will remember the victims of 9-11 for the rest of my life.
