Several gay and lesbian organizations, including the South Asian Lesbian and Gay Association (SALGA), paraded the streets of Jackson Heights in Queens on June 2 to kick of the Gay Pride Month. It is also the 10th annual gay pride parade organized by the Queens Lesbian and Gay Pride Committee, themed Pride Worldwide. True to the theme, marchers, performers and spectators at the event were of diverse cultures and ethnicities.
