I was at home with my five year old son, who happened to be sick. We were lying in my bed watching Good Morning America, we actually watched the second plane hit the tower. My son's first words after this happened were "does this mean that Daddy will have to go". You see, my husband is in the National Guard, and Cody knew that something bad had happened and that Daddy might have to go to protect us. I immediatley called my husband who was at work to tell him what had happened, and to also let our son talk to his dad. We kept in constant contact throughout the whole day. We have had to go through alot this past year, wondering when my husband would get called up to active duty and preparing our son for this. Fortunately, he has not had to go yet, other then to the local airport. We are still very aware that the longer this goes on, the better chance he will have of getting deployed. It will be a hardship on us, but we all realize (even our son) that this Country is what we believe in and we will do whatever it takes to help protect her.
