My husband called me from his cell phone at work after the first plane hit. He listens to Howard Stern on the way to work, and I asked him to make sure it was not a joke. He was still on the phone and told me 'Another plane just hit the second tower'. A number of people crowded around my desk as my voice became nervous and I remember saying 'no no no it can't be true'. My supervisor said that he knew someone who worked on the 100TH floor of the towers. I unthinkingly replied 'maybe not anymore'. Sadly, it turned out my words were true. I then sent an email to my 3 sisters that said "say your prayers... for all of us". They replied.

1. This is so incredible I almost want to turn OFF my radio.

I still have the original emails. I watched the tv at work and had to go with my mother for an MRI at New Britain General Hospital for an MRI. I was able to let my husband know I was going for the appointment, but could not reach him on the cell phone for the rest of the day.
