911DA Story: Story

I lived on Governor's Island, NY during the time that the Trade Towers were being built giving me the most envious view of them from my bedroom window. I was devastated as we watched the TV just minutes after the first coverage began. At noon, we went to Home Depot and bought white flowers and one large red flower and planted a memorial flower garden that afternoon.

In response to September 11, I created 3 large panel mosaic large with granite, marble and mirrors.
My problem is that the pieces are so heavy that the original frame is bowing.

I would like to rebuild the frames with steel instead of wood. I am interested in finding out if there is any salvaged steel from the site available for artists?

If anyone knows who I could contact regarding this information or a site that could help me, please reply to deidrainmexico@yahoo.com I would be eternally grateful, Deidra Lynch
