911DA Story: Story
How did you witness history on September 11th? Share your experience.
My brother-in-law called me and told me to turn on the T.V, and that was right after the first plane hit the World Trade Center. I was shocked and frightened, and saddened.
Has your life changed because of September 11, 2001? If so, tell us how.
I don't think that my life has really changed, except that I feel that America is more vulnerable, I guess more vulnerable than I ever thought possible. And I am more conscious of the fragility and cry more easily.
What do you think should be remember about September 11th?
We should remember all thoes who lost their lives, and their families and friends. We should remember to always pull together as Americans, no matter what our backgrounds, as we did on that day. And we should remember to acknowledge God in our everyday lives, not just in times of tragedy.
Did you fly an American flag after the events of Semtember 11th? Have your feeling about the American flag changed as a result of September 11th?
Yes, I fly the flag on my home, and put flag stickers on my car. I still fly the flag. I've always been proud of our flag, and proud to be an American but now I feel more respect for the flag and for all it represents. I get a lump in my throut when I see it, or when I hear the National Anthem because I appreciate this country and the freedoms we enjoy here. It saddens me that there are people in the world who hate us because of who we are and what we stand for. I believe they don't have any idea of what America is all about.
